Gentry Project Entry

Well, the Gentry Project has finally wrapped up and I’m so excited to start sharing more of the finished spaces in this house with you! (In case you missed them, you can see the kitchen here and the master bedroom here.) We listed the house just a few days ago and we are already under contract! So exciting!

I really wanted the entry space of this home to feel colorful and welcoming, especially for the open house we held this last weekend! Our amazing iron front door that we had made locally from Signature Iron Doors, lets in the most beautiful light into our entry.

I knew I wanted to have some really pretty art hanging on our shiplap wall since you can see through the glass doors from the front of the house. I love the look of diptyque or triptyque canvases, where the image is split up into two or three separate frames, and I thought something like that would be perfect in here. When Shutterfly reached out to see if I wanted to have any of our prints from Jenny’s Print Shop framed for the Gentry project, I jumped at the chance to do a framed canvas series of BOARDWALK over the console table for the front door. I love all the palm trees we have in Arizona and this print felt like the perfect choice for this Spanish modern home.

I know based on your emails that a lot of you have wanted to do something similar in your homes with print shop images, but the editing required to crop and edit the image was intimidating to you. Good news! Shutterfly does all the hard work here in splitting up the image and cropping to the right size. You simply upload the image file and that’s it! No prior editing required on your part. It’s super easy.

I loved shopping on Shutterfly’s site for other ways to use our print shop images at Gentry. I’m pretty much obsessed with circle mats right now and I was so excited to see they have this mat and frame option! I love that Shutterfly has black, white and cream matting options as well as a great selection of frame options. I love how our two newest prints HEARTS and DO LESS look stacked together here at the end of the hall. I used this frame for DO LESS and this one for HEARTS with the cream circle mat option.

Did you know Shutterfly offers all sorts of home decor pieces beyond just wall art? All of which you can personalize with your own images or files (like from Jenny’s Print Shop) or you can choose from Shutterfly’s extensive art library. I uploaded this photo of a mudcloth pattern to have them make this super cozy throw! Isn’t it cute in here? I love how these little touches made our Gentry entry space feel warm and welcoming to our guests and potential future home owners during our listing open house this last weekend.

This is such a beautiful space!
I wonder if you can provide a direct link for the console~ if it’s still available. Thank you =)

  2. Kate

This space is so warm and fun! It makes me want to take a vacation.

I also just discovered your Insta stories that are saved to your profile – I have been loving them! It’s fun to have the longer continuation of stories that don’t disappear. All of the DIY projects for the Gentry project are inspiring me to get back to working on my own home. Thank you!

    • Jenny

Thanks Kate! I am LOVING the new saved highlights feature too! It’s so fun to be able to dig deeper into the process and I love that they don’t have to go away now! :)

  3. Sarah

That lamp is everything! Love it all!

    • Jenny

      I know!!!! I looooooove it!!! :)

  4. Julie

Such a gorgeous, relaxed space! I adore those black doors.

Jenny, where do you get all your gorgeous flowers? Are those flowers on the console fake? I’m on the hunt for beautiful fake flowers like these but they never look quite so good. Thank you!

    • Jenny

Hi Julie! They are fake! I found them at Hobby Lobby – my current favorite place to by faux plants! Don’t miss the succulent/cactus section!

  5. Erin

That lamp is stuff of dreams!!!! Can’t wait for it to be in the shop!

  6. Lyssa

This is great info! Can’t wait to see more! I nearly rolled out of my chair when I saw the mention of the blanket and Shutterfly! Wow- technology is amazing! I can’t wait to see more.

  7. Carmen Katz

    Hi Jenny,
Thanks for sharing! It’s all beautiful. I’m looking for two lamps like the one you are going to be selling. Do you know the height of and width of it? Is it gray? And approximate price? When you think it will be available?
    Thank you!

    • Jenny

These will likely just be available locally in our shop, but I’ll for sure let you know if that changes!

  8. Ally Thompson

Hi! This entry is amazing. Can you share the sources for the layered welcome mats? Thanks!

    • Jenny

Hi Ally! The Welcome mat is from Target and the striped jute is from IKEA! :)

  9. Kate O

I love what you did! So inspiring. Are the awnings custom or can you provide the source? Thanks!

    • Jenny

Thank you! I designed them and had a local metal fabricator make them for us! :)

  10. Yanna

Looking perfect and welcoming! You are such an inspiration!

  11. I’m loving your front entryway, doors, plants in pots and the exterior color! Thank you for the inspiration, our goal this spring/summer is to paint the exterior of our house and we are thinking off white with a dark trim and I always wanted a red door. I love that classic grey paint, it looks beautiful!

  12. Diane

So amazing love the quality of the prints and frames!

  13. Peggi

Those doors! The palm prints! That lamp! The rug! Everything looks spectacular! Lovely work, as always. Those bougainvillea make me miss AZ every time!

  14. Susan

Those doors are awesome as is the rest of the foyer. Congrats on the quick sale!

  15. Judith

So beautiful! Can you please tell me where that sage ceramic vase is from on the entry console? And the planter by the bench?

    • Jenny

Hi Judith! I can’t quite remember where we got that one. It was likely Target or Homegoods! :)

  16. Kate

It seems like the links to Shutterfly aren’t working :

    • Julie

Yep, not working for me either – in the links to the frames down below.

      • Jenny

Uh oh! They are working for me. I’m sorry about that!

  19. Sam

Wow, Everything looks so nice especially the paintings.

  20. Karin

What A lovely way to enter such a beautiful home! While I like the see through glass doors, I could not imagine using them in our home as you can see the entire living room space from the front door! But they are perfect in this house. I love the rug and the lamp as well!

Throughthe 15th century the Gentry become firmly established as the real rulers of the localities; and an enterprising part ofEnglands economy. So it seems worth finding out a bit more about them. 180 The Lives and Loves of the Gentry

  22. Annie

Love this! On the shutterfly frames of Boardwalk – did you just split the print into two by uploading same print and zooming in on 2 separate areas?

I’ve been looking to split some of your prints into diptych/triptych to fill up a large space. Thanks for the guidance!

    • Jenny

Hi Annie! If you click through to the link I used for the BOARDWALK frame it will send you to the right place! You just upload one image and the website crops it into two perfectly! :)

Love this space! I recently purchased a kilim for our kitchen and am curious if you have a recommendation for a good rug mat/gripper that will hold it in place?
