Spanish-Inspired Cement and Patterned Tile Round Up!

Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we’re going with a modern Spanish look with the Gentry Project, which means there will most definitely be a healthy dose of patterned tile!  I love that patterned tile brings instant personality into a home. We are working to finalize selections this week for two different patterns (one for the kitchen backsplash around the range and one for the master bathroom) that are unique but play well together. Trust me when I say we have searched to the ends of the earth and the internet for patterned tile (cement, ceramic and porcelain alike!) that is both on the affordable side and has that effortless California cool vibe and colors.

1, 5, and 11 speak to me. #5 looks so old, but I love old. It could be so cool. A kitchen backsplash with black and white accents. Maybe a pop of yellow or another color.

Love to see your projects, Jenny

    You are such an inspiration.

P.S. I will be tearing out some engineered floors when school starts. 85% look good, but some have lost their finish. And, then I’m hoping to convince the hubby that I can paint our in good shape cabinets. Get a new quartz countertop, new appliances and then an apron sink. I won’t lie, I’m excited, but frozen with choices also. Any suggestions besides white cabinets. I’m used to a cream wall with medium brown cabinets with accents of red. Kinda French country. I’m afraid the white might be too cold looking. I’ve always liked our southern facing kitchen and sunken in living room for its warmth. I’m thinking of a emerald green.

I looove the look of cement tile so much that I chose to install it for my recent bathroom renovation that is a bathroom shared by our young girls. I’m not sure if the tile installers screwed it up on the install but I just can’t seem to get it to look clean! It was sealed before and after grouting. Maybe ceramic tile won’t have the same issue? If you have any tips for cleaning cement tile, I would really appreciate them!

Amazing design and colors installed, especially in the bathroom area. These Spanish-cement tiles are really inspiring that I want the one in blue to be installed in my kitchen area, My mom like it very much.

  5. I love all of these, but I’m curious what color you’ll choose for grout. I’ve had white grout, and it stained so bad that I swore never again! But how do you decide the right color for patterned tile that seems like it would go best with white? If it’s on the floor or behind a stove where it’s sure to get splashed with grease/food, what do you choose?

I think 12 and 17 work well together, as well as 12 and 15. 16 and 11 are calling to me as well. Those are some awesome inspo photos!

I love cement tile :) You have referenced some pretty porcelain ones, too :) I really like #9 and #17. I like #2 and #3 together, but it is so hard to tell online if the colors are yea or nay! Can’t wait to see your selections … this is such an awesome project :)

  8. Love these! Excited to see what you choose.#5 jumped out at me the most. Wayfair, who knew! :)
